Nice sale from the Auction.

We had a lovely sale yesterday from one of the auction pick ups on Saturday.
This pile of old football cards cost us £8 and we have just sold them on eBay for £54 including postage.

This was a nice pick up as these were the type of cards i used to collect when i was a kid.

Make money on ebay - product review

We love reselling online to make money and different parts of the job are more enjoyable than others. Going out for the day visiting 10-20 charity shops is always a favorite with us as well as doing the researching on prices.
Something we don't enjoy so much though is the packing up of  bigger bulkier items. When we first started as eBay resellers we sold only video games, slip them into a padded envelope then into a post box - Simple. But when we moved up to larger items we were spending a lot more time making up boxes and packing them out with bubble wrap.
What we found to be of a great use is the Rapesco tape dispenser gun.

Rapesco make great products and we have always used them. These tape guns are a great time saver. No more trying to find the end of the tape with these. They are very sturdy and the tape rolls are easily fitted. The tension can also be adjusted and there is a sharp protected blade to cut the tape.

No Sunday rest for us!

A busy day for us today spent catching up on the items sold and researching prices on the items we picked up at the auction the previous day. Still a bit to wet down in Hampshire for the car boot season to really kick off yet so that will have to wait for another day. A nice sale today was this little playmobil lorry for £30.
This came from a local snipe. We paid £120 for a huge amount of loose playmobil from ebay a few months ago. It took a bit of sorting out but we made a lot of money from it. Local snipes are always a good way of getting good hauls. Quite often there be no postage with collection only which increases the chances of winning the auction.

Auction day

Today we headed out to an auction 15 miles from home. The auctions are called auctions in a day and they are exactly that.No catalogue,no previous day viewing so all lots are dropped at the venue in the morning, they are photographed for the auction (they have a screen to show photos), doors open 90 minutes before the auction starts so buyers can have a look the away we go.
This was our second visit to this particular auction and last time we were blown away by how much stuff we could get cheaply.
Todays best pick up for us was this Olympus SLR camera outfit along with 4 other cameras not pictured here
We paid £65 for this and we will be shooting for £200 for this outfit plus another £30 for the other items.
Our other pick ups were bag of old football cards for £8, bag of old event tickets for £13 There were 4 Madonna concerts tickets for 1990 in that bag which have sold on ebay previously for £20 each!!! A box of old football annuals for £10, tray of bric a brac for £5 and a vintage ring for Jen which she wants to keep for herself for £13.
All in all a very profitable day, We should make a fair few quid from this and we also had a good laugh at the auction too. Win,win, win.
Whoops! Always pack ceramics well!!

We always pack our ceramics really well with lots of bubble wrap with thick cardboard inside a sturdy box but unfortunatly we had a buyer send this photo to us through ebay messages.

Sometimes the post office can be a little heavy handed and thing do get broken. This Denby jug never made it intact to our buyer in Italy so we had to issue an apology and a refund. Thankfully it was only a £20 all in sale so we will just to take it on the chin and move on.

After a good March (150 sales for £2200) we are keen to continue the good sales into the new month. We really hit the shops and auction last month spending over £650 on stock. We realized a long time ago that if you want to resell full time you have to invest a lot of time and money to make a good wage so get out there and spend those pennies.
Some of the highlights last month were: A pair of G Star jeans for £40 inc post (cost £3.00), Digital medical pill dispenser for £53 inc post (cost £5.00) and a Game of thrones figure on Amazon for £36 inc post (cost £7.00). So as you can see we don't specialize too much although the toy section of any charity shop is the first place we tend to head to.
Four days into the new month and we have only been out buying once, spending £70 in our favorite charity in our area. Nothing special found but lots of football shirts for a £1 a go, bundle of marvel dvd's for £9.00, a few toys and games etc.
We also picked up this on a eBay local snipe. A ebayer was selling a cuttlebug craft machine on auction with collection only. We won it for £30 and are selling for £75 on Amazon so a good flip there.

Sales are coming in fast so we have been busy packing things up. We are averaging a turnover of over £100 a day in April so far so its a good start. One of the nice sales was a Warhammer book we picked up for £3.00, they had 6 different books in the charity shop so we grabbed them all. This one sold for £40 inc postage.

Thats it for this post, any questions please pop them into the comments box below.

After over 3 years away we thought we would revamp and relaunch our blog. We are now going to focus on our reselling business and share with you our efforts to be full time on eBay and amazon.

About us.

Jadysalsorts are Ady and Jen, a married couple from Hampshire in the UK. We have been selling on ebay for years but recently decided that we could do it as a full time living. Jen stays at home and works on the business whilst Ady has a 'normal' job 4 days a week.
We pick up our stock from all the usual places such as boot sales, charity shops and auction houses mostly targeting toys and collectibles but will pick up anything that will flip.

The Business.

Jadys sell on eBay and Amazon but we don't use Amazon FBA. In our opinion its much better to be merchant sellers on Amazon so that way items can be listed on both platforms with twice the chance of selling. Also we never stock pile items to sell in Q4. The sooner items are listed online they are in the market place so we believe in the maxim 'Source it, List it, Forget about it,Sell it".
Last year we started to hire a storage unit, this has been the best thing for our business as now for our £120 a month cost we can store lots of items in a good dry secure environment and not have too much business clutter in our house.

This Blog.

There seems to be a huge reselling community online at the moment with YouTube, blogs and facebook etc. Reselling can sometimes be a lonely job so its good to know there are other people out there doing the same thing. Over time we will upload a few videos on YouTube showing of our storage unit and sales round-up etc. We aim to us this blog as a kind of reselling diary, not daily entries but interesting sales and pick ups with a few tips of the trade.
